Brentford are in talks with Burnley to sign Jaidon Anthony permanently. The 26-year-old English winger is looking to stay in the Premier League after Burnley's relegation to the Championship last season, and the Claretes are expected to demand a fee of around £20 million for the pass.
Anthony distinguished himself with 9 goals and 4 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions last season. Born in London and trained at Arsenal's academy, the player welcomes the move to Brentford, while coach Keith Andrews believes that the winger fits well into the team's game model.
The Bees have already strengthened themselves this summer with defender Jannik Schuster, signed from RB Salzburg in a deal that could reach £16 million including bonuses.
Jaidon Anthony left Arsenal in 2016 without making his debut for the first team and established himself at Bournemouth, after loans to Weymouth and Leeds United. In 2024 he joined Burnley on loan from Bournemouth, then became permanent in the summer, following promotion to the Premier League, under a mandatory buyout clause of £8 million.
Burnley ended up relegated after just one season in the top flight. Brentford narrowly missed out on European qualification, finishing in 9th place due to goal difference in the final round, and made their debut in the new Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur.
