Former Russian national team footballer Vladislav Radimov believes that Zenit defender Douglas Santos was the Brazilian team's most useful player in the opening match of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, which ended in a 1-1 draw with the Moroccan team. Radimov commented: "The opponent was serious, but the clash on the flank against the captain of the Moroccan national team, Achraf Hakimi, was even more complicated. Overall, Santos stood out as the best on the team, he barely lost any balls. When the goal was conceded, perhaps the responsibility should have been attributed to the central defenders." In the second round, the Brazilian team will face Haiti on June 20th and, in the third game, they will face Scotland on June 25th.
