Robert Lewandowski leaves the European fields and moves to the United States. The Chicago Fire announced, on Monday, that they signed the Polish striker. Lewandowski (37 years old) signs a contract until the end of the 2027/28 season. Several prominent media outlets had already reported on Sunday an agreement between the Chicago Fire and Lewandowski, and now the transfer has been officially confirmed. The Polish star arrives at the Chicago Fire as a free player, after the end of his contract with Barcelona, where over four years he scored 120 goals in 193 games. Before that, Lewandowski stood out at Bayern Munich, where he scored 344 goals, and at Borussia Dortmund, with 103. Now, the Polish striker is looking for more goals in the North American league. Gregg Berhalter, who previously played in the Netherlands, is currently the technical director and coach of the Chicago Fire and expressed his delight at Lewandowski's arrival: "His arrival underlines our ambition to fight for titles and raises the club's expectations to a level worthy of the city. We look forward to working with him and showing Chicago why he is one of the most admired sporting figures in the world."
