The electoral campaign for the presidency of Real Madrid entered into full swing and Florentino Pérez immediately raised expectations. In an interview with daily AS, the Merengues leader promised a profound remodeling of the squad after a season without titles, already identifying who he considers to be the first target of the new cycle.

“If he remains president of Real Madrid, Konaté will play here next season,” said Florentino, pointing out Liverpool’s French central defender as one of the pillars of the sporting project to relaunch the team. And it won't stop there: "We will reinforce all sectors to compete for all the titles. Other high-level players will arrive."

The president also recalled the achievements achieved under his leadership, highlighting that the club won seven Champions Leagues in that period and remains at the top of the international economic rankings. “The partners know our credibility and know what we have built over the years”, he said.

In the chapter on permanence, Florentino was adamant about the future of the main stars. Regarding Vinícius Júnior, he assured: “He wants to stay at Real Madrid and I want him to stay too.” And he extended the message to the luxury trio of Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham: "They are extraordinary players that any club would like to have. Obviously, they will continue at Real Madrid."

There was also room for a sensitive topic at the Bernabéu: the possible return of José Mourinho. The director, who was seen as having the Portuguese as his chosen coach in case of victory in the elections, did not hide his admiration: "He is one of the best coaches in the world and played a fundamental role in the growth of Real Madrid. Mourinho and Konaté are my first 'signings'."
