I hope Khaledi, a veteran player from the province of Khuzestan, who has made history in Iranian football over the years, continues to shine in League 1. Khaledi, who previously wore the Foolad Khuzestan shirt and was a fundamental player during the time he played under the direction of Ali Daei at Saipa, is now in a new phase of his career. He is playing for a team led by Ayoub Vali and shared the reasons that led him to join Foolad Novin, stating: "My friendship with Ayoub Vali goes back many years. We are not only teammates, but also family friends. My presence in this League 2 team is only due to him; we are the same age, but that doesn't interfere with our work. He has shouted at me several times, but I understand his position as a coach. I see him as a brother and friend and I wanted to help him in his career as a coach. Sometimes I help him as an assistant."
Khaledi also discusses his flexibility on the field and his ability to play in multiple positions. "I am a versatile player. During my time in the army, I played as a striker due to the team's need and managed to score a lot of goals. After that, Mr. Majid Jalali called me to the Foolad main team. Since Mehdi Jamati played as a left defender and Arash Afshin as a striker, I was transferred to the right defense on Majid Jalali's recommendation, and in that position I won the Major League championship. In recent years, I even played as a central defender for Foolad Novin. That's my characteristic, I always try to do my best where the team needs it, to please the technical team."
Regarding his time at Saipa and the turnaround in his career, Khaledi recalls: "In the years I played with Ali Daei at Saipa, I was performing well, and I even had offers from Persepolis at the same time as Mehdi Torabi. But in the final stages of the season, when I was in great form and had scored some important goals, I suffered a cruciate ligament injury during a game against Naft Masjed Soleyman. That injury changed the course of my career, but I thank God for being able to play again."
Khaledi also talks about when he intends to leave football: "I will continue to play as long as my body allows it and the circumstances are favorable. I will play until I am 50 (laughs). At the moment, I have already obtained my D and C coaching certificates and I intended to sign up for B, but due to my emotional connection with my wife and daughter, I prefer to participate in the classes that are held in the province of Khuzestan."
Addressing the state of his team and the objectives for the current season, he stated: "This year our main priority is to ensure stability and achieve a position in the top ten in the table. The biggest challenge we currently face is the psychological aspect and strengthening self-confidence among the younger players in the team. Although we have experienced players, it is necessary for us to work mentally with them so that they enter the field with more confidence. I am sure that, with the support of the management and the effort of the boys, we will have brilliant results."
