Reports on Wednesday indicate that veteran defender Matteo Darmian has not yet decided whether he will continue to play in the 2026-27 season and that he could take on a behind-the-scenes role at Inter next season, despite a long list of potential offers in Serie A. Darmian, 36, is among the players who will leave Inter at the end of their contracts on June 30, along with Francesco Acerbi, 38, and Yann Sommer, 37. The Italian international, with 46 caps, will leave the Nerazzurri after six seasons, where he made 218 appearances in competitions and won three Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa Italiana. According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Darmian has not yet decided whether he will continue to play next season. Several Serie A clubs, including Sassuolo, Udinese and recently promoted Monza and Venezia, could make offers for the versatile and experienced full-back. However, there is a possibility that Darmian may decide to end his career during the holiday season, and if that is the case, Di Marzio reports that he will be offered a behind-the-scenes role with Inter. Inter officials expect a response from Darmian by the end of next week.
