There are only eleven days left until the start of the World Cup. At the Azteca Stadium, Mexico's national team will make its debut against South Africa. To prepare in the best possible way, the Mexican team played a friendly against Australia, where they emerged victorious 1-0, thanks to a goal from Genoa defender Johan Vasquez. The player spoke to El Tricolor's microphones: "I can't believe I'm the only one, many of my teammates have the capacity to act as central defenders. I try to provide security, which I consider one of my strengths as a defender. We're close to the World Cup and I'll do my best to provide that security, in order to achieve our goals. Our group? It's a difficult group, with three different teams; we need to be intelligent and talk about Korea and the Czech Republic, but we have to move forward step by step. We have a lot at stake in the first match, they are knockout games. I feel there is pressure, but it depends on how we want to face it. I experienced the last World Cup and we understand the context in which Mexico finds itself; Vasquez also commented on his future at Genoa, mentioning contact with Inter: "There was something with the Nerazzurri, but nothing major. I talk about it with my wife, my children were born there. I'm not saying I want to live there forever, at the moment I'm happy in Genoa and at Genoa. I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but we'll talk about that again later."
