Roma built a real wall around Mile Svilar. The Serbian goalkeeper is one of the most valuable assets of the team led by Gian Piero Gasperini, who has had a great season, leading the Roman team back to the Champions League. The club from the Italian capital is determined to keep its goalkeeper, who this season was used in 48 games between the league and competitions, having conceded 44 goals and finished 21 matches without being beaten, which represents almost 50% of the games played. These impressive numbers caught the attention of major European clubs, including Chelsea, who, under the leadership of Todd Boehly, were looking to offer new manager Xabi Alonso a top-quality goalkeeper. According to information from "Corriere dello Sport", the Blues had come forward with a proposal of 50 million euros, but found Trigoria's door closed. The feeling is that, even with the arrival of new sporting director Tony D'Amico, the club's stance will not change. The director would have already spoken to Gasperini, also rejecting proposals that may be superior to the one that has already been returned. This decision represents a considerable sacrifice for Roma, given that by June 30 the team needs to generate between 50 and 60 million euros in sales to comply with UEFA's regularization agreement.
