Real Madrid set the exit price for Fran García, a left-back who became surplus after the signing of Marc Cucurella, at 10 million euros. According to AS, the Merengues are already listening to proposals, with Real Betis emerging as the main interested party and having started conversations for a permanent deal.
The left of the Whites' defense is overcrowded, with Marc Cucurella joining Álvaro Carreras, Fran García and Ferland Mendy. The new coach, José Mourinho, intends to keep Carreras, while Mendy is recovering from injury and should only return in November, which puts García at the exit door in this market.
On the Betis side, Manuel Pellegrini has already given the go-ahead for the operation and the Andalusian club has made the first contacts to understand the terms of the agreement. The Sevillian club sees Fran García as a priority to strengthen the position, although it will have to work around the player's salary demands, above the squad's usual remuneration structure. Kaiki Bruno is another option under analysis, but García remains at the top of the list.
Trained at Valdebebas, Fran García left Real Madrid in 2020 for Rayo Vallecano and returned in 2023 after the Whites activated the buy-back clause. Last season, the Spaniard played 23 games in all competitions, without being able to secure the starting spot permanently. With Cucurella's arrival and only one year remaining on his contract, leaving for around 10 million euros is seen in Madrid as a good deal.
