After the end of the season with Milan, Christian Pulisic is already focused on the World Cup that his team will play at home. Speaking to ESPN, the American striker commented: "The boys have accumulated a lot more experience at club and international level. Participating in a World Cup as a team, having good performances, getting through the group stage and then suffering a tough defeat against a great team, all of this contributes to our growth and learning. Most of the players will be much more calm, a little more relaxed, ready for the important moments."
However, he couldn't help but address the end of the season with Milan: "I don't look for anyone to blame or understand what the problems were. There were moments when I could have done much better and it was a difficult period for our team and for me, and that sums it up. I haven't changed the way I train, prepare, or continue to try to improve every day. I still do that and that's why I can keep my head up. Obviously I'm disappointed, but now I have to look forward and to the that is to come."
His prolonged goal drought appears to be a problem, but he downplays it: "That's happened to me in the past in my career. There are difficult moments and sometimes a ball hits the knee and goes in, and from then on it seems like everything goes in."
