Napoli has Federico Gatti in its sights as one of the first defensive reinforcements for Massimiliano Allegri, a coach who is just waiting for his arrival at the club to be formalized, after the resolution of the contractual dispute with Milan.
According to SportMediaset, via TuttoMercatoWeb, the transfer of the Juventus central defender could be completed for approximately 20 million euros — a value that would represent a notable profit for the Bianconeri compared to the amount paid to Frosinone when they secured the player.
Gatti, 26, worked closely with Allegri in Turin and the coach's desire to count on the Italian international again is seen as a determining factor in Napoli's push. The defender's departure has been rumored for some time and, with the predictable arrival of more defenders at Juventus this summer, Gatti's space could shrink even further.
In terms of selection, Luciano Spalletti has preferred other solutions in his defensive options, a scenario that could also influence the player's immediate future. A move to Naples would give Gatti a fresh start and the possibility of being guided by a coach who knows his qualities well and appreciates him.
Like other dossiers on the Napoli market, this deal remains dependent on Allegri making it official, a process that awaits the conclusion of the compensation agreement with Milan.
