Matej Kovar could soon be the first reinforcement of the team that will be coached by Massimiliano Allegri. The Neapolitan club is evaluating its market strategies in anticipation of making its new coach official. And, precisely in goal, there could be a change, given Alex Meret's end-of-cycle contract, which runs until 2027, and the presence of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who, despite being recognized for his value, was not completely convincing last season when he was used.

The first name on the list of priorities is the young Czech goalkeeper, who will represent his country in the next World Cup. Kovar, born in 2000, belongs to PSV Eindhoven, who signed him in January for 5 million euros, after Bayer Leverkusen rescued him.

The player was acquired in 2018 by Manchester United and was integrated into the Under-18 and Under-21 formations before being loaned to Burton Albion and, later, to Sparta Prague, where he became champion as a starter.

In 2023, Kovar joined Bayer Leverkusen as Hradecky's understudy and, two years later, moved to the Eredivisie with the Whites, where he will face Napoli in the Champions League. During his time in the Netherlands, he made 44 appearances in all competitions, finishing without conceding a goal on eight occasions.
