Mantova is acting quickly in the transfer market. With the advantage of having already defined its coach, Francesco Modesto, and sporting director, Fabio Brutti, the Biancorosso club aims to complete at least two operations this week. The first objective, as reported by La Voce di Mantova, is the extension of Simone Trimboli's contract, whose contract ends in 2027. The midfielder expressed his desire to remain in Mantova, and president Filippo Piccoli had already rejected a transfer proposal last January, strengthening his contract for another year. Now, the parties are working to secure a new extension, in perfect harmony with the technical team. The agreement has already been reached, with only the official announcement remaining.
The second target is Jonathan Silva, a 19-year-old Brazilian striker, who played last season for Padova, having played 17 games, but who suffered some injuries that affected his performance. Brutti has already reached an agreement with Torino for a loan, and this is likely to be Mantova's first reinforcement for the 2026-27 season. Also on the way is Greek goalkeeper Fotios Pseftis (2003), who belongs to Lugano, and should be Francesco Bardi's replacement.
Regarding new reinforcements, Brutti intends to take advantage of the good relations with Hellas Verona to bring in midfielder Matheus Charlys, who was at Reggiana last season. For attack, players Federico Chinetti from Como, Giuseppe Ambrosino from Napoli and Emanuele Pecorino from Juventus are analyzed. Mantova will also try to renew Ali Dembélé's loan with Torino, as well as Rachid Kouda with Parma, although both operations are considered complicated. The club also has the option of rescuing Fahem Benaissa from Portuguese side Casa Pia (around 700,000 euros were agreed in January). Regarding Alessio Castellini, Davide Bragantini and Tommaso Marras, the policy is clear: Mantova intends to keep all three, unless irrefutable offers arise.
