Ivan Provedel's future must pass through Milan. The meeting held yesterday between the goalkeeper's agent and Inter management served to align the bases of a contractual agreement: a three-season contract is on the table, in the order of 1.5 million euros per season. The player's openness is total and the understanding with the Nerazzurri is well underway.
The unresolved issue now is between clubs. Lazio admits Provedel's departure — he has another year on his contract and there will be no renewal — and already has a plan for the goal: betting on a young duo with Mandas and Motta, and the Greek goalkeeper returning from loan to Bournemouth to take over as a starter next season.
As for the numbers, Inter do not intend to invest too much and let the agent know that they will present Lazio with a proposal close to 2 million euros. In Formello, however, the amount is considered insufficient: Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani aim for a minimum of R$5 million to release the goalkeeper.
The distance is still significant, but there is a desire on all sides to reach an understanding quickly. In the coming weeks — and even in the space of a few days — the right formula to complete the transfer may emerge. Lazio intends to rejuvenate the squad, reduce the wage bill and make capital gains that help finance entries, keeping the summer window at zero balance.
