Inter without progress in renewing Carlos Augusto: meeting scheduled after the holidays

Inter Milan has scheduled a meeting with Carlos Augusto for the Brazilian defender's return from vacation, with a view to discussing a possible contract extension. The player's contract with the Nerazzurri is valid until June 30, 2028 and, despite the club's confidence in its continuity for 2024/25, there has been no acceleration in recent weeks.

According to what was possible to ascertain, the dossier remains unchanged compared to the scenario of around three weeks ago. There is no distance between the parties: the objective is to talk, align sports projects and, if everything goes as expected, continue together. Until the meeting, however, no news is expected.

In 2023/24, Carlos Augusto made 44 appearances in all competitions, with 2 goals and 2 assists, contributing to Inter winning the Serie A title.

Individual numbers reinforce its relevance. He is one of four defenders who, in the last four Serie A seasons, achieved at least 10 goals and 10 assists, alongside Federico Dimarco, Theo Hernández and Denzel Dumfries. Among defenders with a minimum of 20 appearances in this Serie A, he led the percentage of aerial duels won (70.7%). And, among players with at least 30 matches in the championship, he was one of the least beaten when dribbling (only five times), a statistic in which he is tied with Aarón Martín.

In the Champions League, the Brazilian has played 27 games, with 1 goal and 2 assists so far.
