Inter prepares to leave Dumfries and focuses on Marco Palestra

Inter Milan are about to say goodbye to Denzel Dumfries, who is on his way to joining Real Madrid, and have turned their attention to Atalanta player Marco Palestra. The challenge for the Milanese club is that Palestra, class of 2005, is also in the sights of big English clubs, including Manchester City, and his release clause is 50 million euros, while Dumfries is expected to leave for Spain for around 20 million.

Everyone recognizes the 21-year-old's value this season, but replacing the former PSV player will not be an easy task. Dumfries had a significant physical impact on games, as the numbers show. Despite missing time due to injury, he participated in 28 games this season, 20 in Serie A, 3 in the Coppa Italia and 5 in the Champions League, totaling 1,776 minutes on the field. While those numbers are low for a player of his caliber, his ankle injury required him to undergo surgery.

He contributed 5 goals (3 in the league and 2 in Europe) and 2 assists (one in Serie A and one in the domestic competition). On the other hand, Palestra, who this season made his debut as a starter at Cagliari, has shown promising potential, but his statistics are still not as impressive as expected. The young man participated in 37 Serie A games, scoring 1 goal and distributing 4 assists in 3,085 minutes played.

Making comparisons between the two players is complex, but the question among Inter fans is: will Marco Palestra be a good acquisition for the present or just for the future?
