Danilo Gallinari, basketball star and well-known AC Milan fan, commented on the club's moment in statements published in today's edition of Corriere della Sera. Asked whether Milan is currently missing a figure like Paolo Maldini, the Italian international had no doubts: "The footballer I loved most. And, over the years, I discovered a wonderful person. In the structure, people like him would be needed."
Gallinari also recalled the emotional impact of one of the most difficult recent episodes for the Rossoneri: "The day after the defeat to Cagliari was devastating. On top of that, my wife (Eleonora Boi) is from Cagliari: I was made fun of by her family."
The basketball player highlighted the admiration he has for Maldini, whom he recognizes as a historical dimension to the club and human qualities that, in his view, are missing from Milan today. Gallinari's words once again place the topic of leadership and identity at the center of the debate surrounding San Siro.
