More than 130 children participated in the New York edition of Serie A Elite, the official youth development program of Lega Serie A in North America, run in partnership with the Rome City Institute.
The event took place at Chelsea Waterside Park, in Manhattan, and was free for boys and girls aged 8 to 13, offering training sessions with Italian coaches and direct contact with the method and culture of Italian football.
At a time when the World Cup is putting the spotlight on football across North America, the strong turnout in New York confirmed the growing interest in the sport among younger generations and their families.
Throughout the day, participants participated in on-field activities, interactive experiences and also had the opportunity to see the iconic Serie A Trophy up close.
“Serie A Elite represents much more than a sports training program: it is an instrument through which we share the values, culture and tradition of Italian football with new generations,” said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A. “Seeing so many children participating with enthusiasm, in the heart of New York, confirms the growth of our sport in the United States and the strong interest in the technical and educational model that characterizes Serie A. Investing in young people means building authentic and lasting relationships with the fans of the future.”
