Premier League clubs have made their retention and release lists official for next season, confirming the departure of several big names. Among the players on the exempt lists are Mohamed Salah, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro, in a move that closes dossiers that had already been anticipated.
In England, the Premier League organization annually asks clubs to nominate the players who remain under contract and those who will leave. Although teams are not required to publish their documents in full, the league itself discloses, in a consolidated manner, who stays and who leaves.
In the list of notable cases, Salah had already announced that he would leave, while Andy Robertson has a new destination set at Tottenham Hotspur. Ibrahima Konaté is widely considered at Real Madrid and Casemiro has already said goodbye to Manchester United.
Among former Eredivisie players, it was decided that Tyrell Malacia, Bertrand Traoré and Lorenzo Lucca will not continue under contract with Manchester United, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest, respectively. Lucca returns to Napoli, while Malacia and Traoré enter the market as free players. Sunderland also reported that they are in talks with loanee Lutsharel Geertruida.
Jadon Sancho appears as one of the most financially sound names on the exit lists. Signed by Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for 85 million euros, the striker never fully lived up to expectations at Old Trafford. He had difficulties under Erik ten Hag, found some form again in a transfer to Dortmund and, five years later, left Manchester on a free transfer.
