Cesc Fábregas, the Spanish coach who took Como to the Champions League in the final round of Serie A, has addressed his future after a historic campaign at Calcio. "About the future? We had a long meeting with the president and the director. We consolidated the idea, the vision is already set for next season. I'm very happy here. We still need to polish some details and I'm learning a lot. We're creating a mentality", he said in statements to 'Sky Sports'.
Fábregas, who is speaking in the Champions League, highlighted that "the growth of this club has been dizzying. Since we started, it has taken us two and a half years to exceed expectations. We know who we are, we have a clear vision. It is a masterpiece, but from today, we begin to prepare for a difficult and different season".
He also underlined the importance of the Champions League: "It's essential; if you're not prepared in certain stadiums, you score six goals."
The coach also spoke about the future of Nico Paz, who is desired by big clubs and who could return to Real Madrid for a payment of 9 million euros: "He is a very important player for our growth. We have grown with him, and he with us. It is an important game, we will see what happens, but our desire is for him to stay with us."
Last week, Cesc had already declared that "Nico Paz will play for Como or Real Madrid, not for Inter". During the celebrations for qualifying for the Champions League in the city, Como fans showed their affection for Nico Paz. The entire crowd (and their companions on the bus) sang "Stay with us!" The Canarian player, capped by Argentina, was quick to respond: "Forza Como, this is just the beginning."
