Catanzaro will maintain its focus on youth after the recent success with the arrivals of Cissé, Liberali and Alesi. In addition to left-back Matteo Cocchi, from 2007, from Inter — a negotiation that is in the final stages —, the Calabrian club is now looking to the other half of Milan in search of reinforcements.
In the crosshairs are two young men from Milan. One of them is Mattia Cappelletti, a right-back also from 2007, who is coming off a consistent season in Serie D playing for the Rossoneri secondary team, Milan Futuro: he played 35 games, two goals and eight assists. The other target is midfielder Jacopo Sardo, from 2005. The center forward spent the last season between Monza, in Serie B — where he was not used by coach Paolo Bianco — and Milan Futuro, in Serie D, registering four goals in 16 matches.
With these moves, Catanzaro reinforces its strategic line of sustained growth with young talent, trying to repeat the immediate impact observed in the last incorporations.
