This was the moment of the presentation of Anthony Gordon as a new player for FC Barcelona. The player expressed his ambition to win the Champions League in his first season as a Blaugrana.
Gordon revealed that he learned to speak Spanish to fulfill his dream of playing for Barcelona, and his first impressions were very positive. After signing the contract with Rafa Yuste, the player already posed with the club's shirt.
Regarding his playing style, Gordon stated: "If I had to choose a style, it would be Raphinha's, for the intensity, speed and technique. I want to help the team as much as possible, score goals and provide assists, as this brings victories."
Referring to the Champions League, Gordon said: "Barca are very special, they are the biggest in the world with the best fans. I want to win all the trophies, but the Champions League is special. Winning the sixth would be magnificent, and if it is in my first season, it would be incredible."
Showing his determination, Gordon highlighted: "I wanted to learn Spanish because I wanted to play for Barça. I learned it in the last two years. I only won one trophy with Newcastle and I'm hungry to win. I want to achieve everything."
On the experience of playing with Lamine and his memory of facing Barcelona in the Champions League, Gordon commented: "Playing with Lamine and the others is exciting. They are top players, the best in the world. The atmosphere at St. James' Park is intense, but Frenkie and Pedri surpassed them."
Gordon also shared his experience with coach Hansi Flick: "I spoke to him. I'm very excited. He's a good person and a great coach. What he did at Barça is incredible. I hope we can win many titles together."
"Playing for Barça is huge and comes with a lot of responsibility, but I'm ready. The players who wear this shirt have a weight. You don't sign for a club like this every day, I'm very excited," said Gordon.
After the presentation, Gordon will return to his country to join the England team, where he will be one of Thomas Tuchel's bets in the World Cup.
Barcelona officially confirms Anthony Gordon's record for the next five seasons, until 2031. The Englishman, who arrives from Newcastle for 70 million euros, plus 10 in variables, is the first reinforcement for the 2026/27 season.
